Barbara L Peckarsky

Barbara (Bobbi) Peckarsky is a Professor Emeritus of Entomology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University, an Honorary Fellow in the Department of Zoology and Adjunct Professor of Entomology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She is a Senior Researcher at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory where she has served on the Board of Trustees of RMBL and as Vice President. Her research focuses on the population and community ecology of organisms living in streams, with a current emphasis on the effects of disturbance regimes and environmental change on stream ecosystems. Professor Peckarsky has authored numerous research publications, book chapters and a textbook on Freshwater Macroinvertebrates of Northeastern North America and served on the editorial board of the journals published by the Ecological Society of America. She received the Award of Excellence in Research from the North American Benthological Society, the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Professor of Merit Award for outstanding teaching and advising from Cornell University. She currently serves on the Science Advisory Council of the Environmental Law and Policy Center and is Vice President of the Black Earth Creek Watershed Association Board of Directors.
