This year ASL are excited to present Writing Winning Scientific Proposals, sponsored by CSIRO Publishing and led by the scientific writing and publication expert Camilla Myers. The workshop will focus on writing scientific proposals, but you’ll learn skills to help you in all areas of scientific writing. Morning tea will be available from 10.00am, and the workshop will commence at 10.30am. Lunch will be provided and the workshop will wrap up at 3.30 in time for the commencement of the student mixer.
A chance for ASL students to meet and chat with freshwater academics, in an informal environment. This year’s student mixer will feature the second annual round of ASL Freshwater Charades- a surprisingly fun and creative way to get to know your cohort and their areas of interest.
For the first time, the ASL proudly presents our student mentoring program. Students will meet with academics and professionals during the student mixer (at 4.30pm - directly before the Conference Icebreaker) on Sunday evening. This program is designed to share knowledge and boost student confidence. Please register your interest as an academic, professional or student participant here. For more information please contact Katy in the student committee kelimpert@gmail.com. Academics and professionals wishing to participate should please contact Andrew Brooks at andrew.brooks@dpi.nsw.gov.au.
